The Spark patient wears a series of doctor-prescribed, custom manufactured, clear plastic, removable aligners that incrementally move teeth with gentle force from their original state to a more optimal, treated state.
Patients usually receive a new set of aligners every one to two weeks as part of their personalized treatment plan. New aligner sets ensure a proper fit for optimal tooth movement as teeth move into their new desired locations.
Clear teeth aligners from Spark are made with innovative TruGEN™ material. This material makes our clear aligners more comfortable, clearer, and less likely to stain*. With a targeted design, Spark Clear Aligners may result in more efficient and effective tooth movement when compared to the leading brand.
During your initial consultation at our office, Dr. Falk will perform an oral evaluation and inform you as to whether the Spark system is right for you. We will also address any questions or concerns you may have.
Next, we will go over your total treatment fee, taking into account any orthodontic insurance benefit you may have. Our office will work with you to find a payment option that works best for you.
The next step is to take a full set of “before” diagnostic records. Initial records typically include digital x-rays, and photos of your teeth. After records are taken, we will perform a 3D digital scan of your teeth. The 3D scan will be instantly uploaded to Spark for treatment planning and development of your case.
A few weeks after we take your diagnostic records and perform your 3D scanning, we will set your appointment to receive your first set of aligners and attachments. You will wear them at least twenty hours each day for maximum effectiveness. You will return to us every six to ten weeks for fitting of your next sets of aligners.
Depending upon the complexity of a patient’s treatment plan, the doctor may add attachments to certain teeth. These attachments act like handlebars to help move teeth in sync with the aligners.
Once your case is completed successfully, you must wear your retainers as instructed, typically for 8-10 weeks following final movements. Then at home & bed for the next 4 months and then finally to bed only. Retainers are custom made for you and will help to keep your teeth in their newly corrected positions.
