Orthodontic Specialists

Doctor and PatientOur practice’s mission and philosophy is to provide a highly personalized level of patient care, while achieving the best possible orthodontic result for all of our patients. Our goal is to treat our patients in a manner that is consistent with the way we, ourselves and our families, would expect to be cared for.

A Word from Dr. Gershey, founding partner…

Doctor and PatientThe above principles have served as guidelines for both myself and my staff for the past 30 years while delivering orthodontic services in the Northeastern Pennsylvania area. Achieving the best orthodontic results requires the cooperation and efforts of three distinct parties.

First, the orthodontist must correctly diagnose the patient's treatment problem , provide a proper treatment plan and then implement it. Second, the parents must support the orthodontist's requests for the patient's cooperation (proper oral hygiene, diet restrictions, appliance/elastic wear), make and keep a proper appointment schedule, and adhere to the agreed upon financial contract obligations. And, perhaps most important, is the patient's responsibility to keep his or her teeth and braces clean during treatment and to carefully follow the orthodontists' directions such as avoiding hard and sticky foods, wearing This three part relationship is triangular in nature.elastics and the necessary various orthodontic components (example, elastics, bite plate, headgear, etc.).

This relationship is triangular in nature. The orthodontist, parent(s), and most importantly, the patient, each must perform their previously mentioned duties to capture an "Excellent Result." Should one party not live up to their responsibilty, and the lines of the triangle do not meet, the goal of an excellent result may escape.
